Coach Byron,

Thank you for your email. The answer is yes you can play with eight players if you only have none and one gets hurt. Besides being short in the field, the issue is that everytime that spot comes up in the batting order for the "ninth" player, it is an automatic out. We had to play a game once under those conditions, and it is quite difficult.
