I need to know EVERYTHING there is to know about softball. The Positions, How many fouls and outs you can get, What happens if it goes out of the field, How many points you get for your team.... EVERYTHING !

Dear Future Softball Player,

For me to tell you everything there is to know about softball is just not possible in one response. A good start would be to review the pages on Fastpitch-Softball-Coaching.com, starting with the Coaching Basics tab under the "Managing" section and work your way down through everything. If you went through every single page on this site, and there are 100's of pages, you may be a little more familiar with the game of softball ... a little.

But for you to really learn the game of softball, you need to PLAY the game of softball. Again, the information on this website can help you with all of the rules and provide you strategy on what to do when certain situations occur during a game, but the best tool to learn is to just go out and play.

If I were you, I would go find a team and talk to the coach after practice (it wouldn't hurt for you to watch the practice and listen to what is being taught)and tell him you would like to learn the game. I do not know a coach out there that doesn't want to have a player who is willing to learn.

So, as a first step, look at the pages of this website, but go find yourself a team to help you experience the game of softball. Unfortunately, no book or website can provide you the experience. You can read the cheers and the quotes to understand why people love this game of fastpitch softball ... it is all in the doing.
