Fundraising Idea (That worked)

(Texas)

What my team did was do a 50/50 raffle where we sold raffle tickets to people for $5 a piece and half of the money from each ticket went to the team and half went into a jackpot that went to the winner of the raffle drawing. The winner got all the money in cash and the person that won was a sibling of someone on my team and was generous to add to our profit with some of the jackpot money so you might get lucky with that too. In a month we raised $2500 with just raffle tickets and the winner got $1250 in cash and then donated $250 back to us.

Great Idea!
by: Coach Dan

Hi Contributor from Texas,

Yes, we used that as one of our fundraising techniques and it always worked well. And my favorite part was that it kept the team from standing in front of convenience stores with their helmets out. That was not something I liked at all. So, give it a try! It is real easy to do and very inexpensive to put together.
