Hastings Strykers 2011 <3

by Bryanna
(Hastings, PA)

The last couple of seasons we haven't exactly been the best team in our league. We were considered one of the worst. No matter what we did we just couldn't pull it together and have one of those WOW seasons. Before the 2011 season started our coaches looked at our roster and told us that this was our year. We had all older girls who were experienced and knew how to play good ball. We worked really hard all through the winter and when the season started, everybody knew we'd be something special. We started the season by winning Irvona tournaments and then started the regular season by going 15-0. Although we'd lose 2 by the time our season ended, we still had a great record of 17-2. We took 2nd in the Northern Cambria tournaments, but it was a great championship game. The end score 8-7. It was a game to hold our heads high about because nobody expected us to win that day after playing 3 games before. It was the same Patton team that knocked us out last year and I'm so glad we put up a hard fight. I love my Hastings Strykers <3 and i can't wait to prove we still go it next season.

Congratulations on your GREAT Progress!
by: Coach Dan

Hi Bryanna,

You, your coaches and your teammates should be very proud of yourselves. It takes a lot of hard work to be good, but it takes a lot of heart to keep after it when things are not going very well. Rather than blow things up, your team stuck together and because of that, look at all of the success you experienced. These are the types of stories that get people to play fastpitch softball. It is a hard game to master and takes time to get good at. Keep up the hard work, and you will have more great seasons like this one!

Kind regards,
Coach Dan
