Softball is the dirt under your finger nails. It's the way the grass smell after it's cut for the big game. Its the scarres on your legs from sliding in at the perfect time. It's having the strength to walk to first base after being hit with the hardest pitch they've thrown. It's the smile you can't get off your face when you know that trophy is yours and still congratulating the other team when you know it's not. When you just made the play to win the game and everyone is screaming your name but you know they were the one to get you this far. It's picking your heads up and finishing a game with dignity. Softball is our life it's been there for us when we have had nothing else, it will always run through my veins. - Haley Marie"24"
If you do not play with the motivation that you describe ... a self motivation, then you will not enjoy the game to the fullest. By the way, that is the same with anything you do in life. Whatever you do, the commitment must be there to make it your best. Not just say you are going to do it and go through the motions, but really mean it.
