Not Ready To Hang up the Cleats

by Hannah
(Omaha, Nebraska)

I played softball ever since I can remember. I was lucky enough to get to play college softball for 4 years on a very good team. Well I have just graduated and I am not ready to give it up just yet. I am still young and I still want to play. I am not interested in doing Pro softball thats to extreme. But I would enjoy playing fastpitch softball in a Womens league for people who are now graduated and still wanting to play. I have been looking and haven't seem to find anything. I am not interested in slow pitch softball. It is way different than fastpitch. I was wondering if there are leagues out there for someone out of college still wanting to play. Thank you...

The WFSA is what you are looking for ...
by: Dan

Hi Hannah,

Thank you for the email. The WFSA (Women's Fastpitch Softball Association) is just what you are looking for. To find out more, follow this link. Kali Capps is the president of the league in the OC, CA and can help you get in touch with the people responsible for the leagues in Omaha. I will send her an email to get the ball rolling. Kali can also be reached at 760-881-6167. Kali's email address is ocwomensfastpitch [at] gmail.com. (Replace the "[at]" with @).

I will let her know of your interest and she should be contacting you soon. I will pass along your email address so she can contact you.

Kind regards,

Dan

Women's Fastpitch
by: Kali Capps

Hi Hannah,
I can totally relate to how you feel! I was very excited to find the WFSA last year when searching, just as you are now. I started a league (2 now) in my area so I'd have a place to play. I know our Director, AJ, is working on getting a league in the Omaha area now, but am not sure if anything has been finalized.

If you go to our national site www.womensfastpitchsoftball.net and fill out a player registration form, he will let you know of anything open in the area. If you think you'd be interested in getting something started or helping to move it along, please let him know (there's a question on the form that asks specifically) and he'll get you going in the right direction.

Also, if you're interested in playing as a pick up player (or if you can get a team together) for any of our tournaments, please let me know. We have one in Phoenix this October and one in So Cal in January. My direct email address is ie_wfsa@yahoo.com. I look forward to hearing from you!
