If your daughter plays either catcher or first base, plus other positions, you may want to buy both the mitt and a regular fielders glove. It is illegal to use a mitt at any other position than first or behind the plate. You may also want to check with the coach to see if the team may have a catcher’s mitt if the player is just starting out. No need to invest until you are certain the player is committed to that position.
