Pregame Meeting - Opening Day

The Inland Empire League in Southern California was the first WFSA league to begin play in 2011, as four teams opened the season Jan. 16 at Kaiser High School in Fontana.

Before an enthusiastic crowd, the Ladies of the Dugout beat the Battle Cats, while the Diamond Dolls scored a victory against Total Chaos. Play continues in the league every Sunday through the championships on March 13.

Angels RBI Program
by: Kali Capps

Hi Randy,
This seems like an awesome program. I'd love to volunteer. I'll see if some of the other coaches in my area are interested as well. It sounds like a great event! I'll email you directly, as well.

Angels RBI needs volunteer instructors for clinic inside the stadium
by: Angels RBI

ANGELS RBI needs volunteer softball clinic instructors

The RBI “Reviving Baseball in Inner-Cities” program is sponsored by Major League Baseball. Their purpose is to allow all inner city kids to play organized softball and baseball without having to pay to play. The ANGELS RBI LEAGUE which is sponsored by the ANGELS hosts both baseball and softball teams and supplies everything needed to participate. This allows all inner city kids to play in the league for free and learn the life lessons taught such as how to win and lose.

We host a FREE softball clinic every year for the ANGELS RBI League girls along with the ANGELS Baseball Club on the field inside ANGEL stadium. This year’s RBI Softball Clinic is on Saturday April 28th and the clinic will run from 9 am – 12 noon. This is a great opportunity to get out on the field at Angel stadium and help the Inner City girls learn the basics of softball. We are looking for volunteer instructors for this clinic. We need instructors for the pitching, hitting, infield, outfield and base running stations.

Also, the ANGELS baseball team is hosting the 1st annual ANGELS YOUTH SOFTBALL CAMP inside Angel stadium on Saturday September 15th, 2012. The camp will run from 9 am -12 noon. This camp is a fundraiser with all proceeds going to the ANGELS RBI LEAGUE. The camp will be open to the public (maximum 300 participants) and be headlined by Team USA Gold Medalists softball players. This camp will give the participants a chance to learn from and be motivated by the best softball players in the world. The softball camp will be promoted by the ANGELS at their home games, on the radio and on their website and articles will be written in the Orange County Register. We are looking for volunteer instructors for this camp as well. We need instructors for the pitching, hitting, infield, outfield and base running stations to instruct along with the Team USA Gold Medalist softball players.

My daughter Nina Lindenberg (Team USA I.S.F. Gold Medalist 1998 & 2002) comes out every year to help with instruction. I have taught Nina and my two sons to give back to kids in need. We also have former players from the original “League of their Own” who attend the clinics.

If you or your fellow coaches know of any other coaches that may be interested in volunteering as an instructor at the RBI League Softball Clinic and/or the 1st annual Angels Youth Softball Camp, please have them contact me for all of the specifics at angelsrbi@roadrunner.com or call me at 714-926-3348. We will have multiple photographers taking lots of digital pictures at both the clinic and camp and will make them available to you.

If interested, please reply to this email to let me know what instructor station(s) you would like to volunteer for in order of preference and what date(s) you are interested in along with your email address and phone number.

Its about time!
by: Tc

I've only had to wait 23+ years for a league I can play ball again. Slow-pitch served its purpose but nothing compares to Fast-pitch competition. Thank you for finally creating a place to play again. I only hope and pray that others get on board in order to grow this much needed area in our community. I'm having a blast and looking forward to a wonderful future with this league. I also enjoy the fact I can actually "play" ball with my daughter and not just coach her anymore.

Finally, Fastpitch for over 18s
by: Dan

This is great to hear that there is finally a place for Fastpitch Softball for the over 18s that still want to play.

Great job and Good Luck with this league! Hopefully it will continue to grow.
