Keep Politics out of Softball!

by Softball Coach 8U

It doesn't matter who you are or how much money you make, each child in the softball field must always be treated equally. Each child must be given equal opportunity by the coaching staff to learn and truly excel in thier talents. Children should not play All Stars or Select play just because mom and dad are rich and popular. However, it should be chosen by skill, performance and talent.

I like it

Based on Merit
by: Coach Dan

Hi Coach,

I agree with you. What's more, it should be totally based on merit, and not who is whose friend, both from a parent and child perspective. This, of course, is harder said than done. This is especially the case when the coach's child is borderline as well.

The issue you raise has been an age old concern both in little league baseball and softball.

Thank you for your thoughts.
