What it takes

Some people say "softball is for girls" well yes it is a girl sport but that doesn't matter. We play, and practice just as hard as anyone else in any other sport. We work just as hard, sweat just as much, and get dirtier than anyone. We learn to play with are hearts and realise we can achieve anything! I just wanted to share a little piece of private information about my experience on the field.. When I was just 10 I started playing on travel teams. I've played since I was just 4 but started traveling at age 10. Our team wasn't the best, but we had the best attitudes and the biggest hearts. Now I'm 15 and have been playing with the same team for years and years now. We have grown as a team and as individuals. It's not all about what your uniforms look like or how big of a team you have. Its about your love for the game, and knowing you'll have fun against your competition. It has taken me plenty of years to figure it out but I now know it isn't all about skill, but about heart.

Thank you all for the appreciation, i think of this as inspiring others to do the things we softball players do. I will have other things i'll be waiting to get approved really soon. I'm going to a softball meeting tonight and i'll have things ready to be put on the site. Looking foward to hearing from all you wonderful people! :] Thanks Again!

Hi Brooke,

I do not think I could have said it better. Your attitude is exactly right and because of it, your team is better for it. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your pictures. Nice hardware, by the way ... so hard work DOES pay off.

Next time the boys refer to softball as "just for girls" (BTW, it is not and there are men fastpitch leagues in various locations, especially in the northern states and Canada, where there are very competitive tournaments with pitchers throwing it at 75 mph) invite them to step in the batter's box to try and hit off your pitcher ... you will be amused by the result ...
